Intro

What if you can get most of your vitamins, good fats & veggie intake already in the morning?

Many people skip breakfast or eat something that is not too nutritious or spikes blood sugar. Yet, eating healthy and consciously is easier than you think. Start your day out amazing with the right breakfast! For us, it’s a smoothie, filled with ingredients we like, minerals, and vitamins we need.

Yes, it’s an all liquid breakfast (no, not in that sense ;) and it’s not as sweet as the smoothies from coffee bars or grocery stores. It’s thicker and something you can eat with a spoon as well. Preferably you chew on it a bit – much better for digestion.

The following smoothie recipe is easy to make and tastes delicious. We’re speaking from experience!

“Eat breakfast like an emperor, lunch like a king and dinner like a beggar."

Ingredients

Our Super Food Smoothie (for 2 people) consists of:

  • Pineapple- 1 big slice
  • Cucumber - 1 big slice
  • Apple - 1x (no pear if it’s a big one)
  • Pear - 1x (no apple if it’s a big one)
  • Banana - 1x
  • Turmeric - a pinch
  • Cardamom - a pinch
  • Cinnamon - a pinch
  • Spirulina - a pinch
  • Cacao - a teaspoon
  • Water - 0.5 L (at least)
  • Coconut chips - a pinch
  • Coconut milk - a (big)spoonful
  • Baby Spinach - a handful
  • Carrots - 4 large or 6 small
  • Dried mulberries - a few
  • Goji berries - a few
  • Hemp seed - a pinch
  • Chia Seed - a (big) pinch
  • Flax Seed - a handful
  • Oatmeal - a handful

You can make it gradually less sweet by leaving out some of the fruit. Or add avocado. We’ve added celery before. Very healthy, but we didn’t feel great afterward.

Instead of fresh baby spinach, you can also use kale. Both can be fresh or frozen

Oh and don’t peel anything (but the banana and pineapple) as there are many vitamins in the peel!

Why these ingredients?

We could give you a full masterclass on all the good stuff inside these ingredients. To sum up the most important elements, with this smoothie you get a boost of:

  • Vitamin C, B, B6, B12 - essential for supporting the natural defense system, good for digestion, blood sugar regulation, and much more.
  • Cacao - stills hunger and the polyphenols in it improve blood flow to your brain and brain function improves your mood and much more
  • Water - to reach your 2L minimum, essential for the kidneys and other bodily functions
  • Good fats - decreases your risk of heart disease by lowering blood cholesterol levels
  • Fibers - aids in achieving a healthy weight, helps control blood sugar levels, lowers cholesterol levels, normalizes bowel movements, etc.
  • Kalium - supports blood pressure, cardiovascular health, bone strength, and muscle strength
  • Antioxidants - can protect against the cell damage that free radicals cause, known as oxidative stress
  • Magnesium - lowers blood pressure, fights against fatigue and depression, enhances exercise performance, etc.
  • Copper - plays a role in energy production and supports to maintain healthy bones, blood vessels, nerves, and immune function, and it contributes to iron absorption
  • Zinc - good for growth, immune system function, enzyme function, eye health & wound healing.

You’ll also need a blender, of course. We recommend one with at least 1000 watt to crush it down to a smooth texture. It works best to start off with the fruits+veggies and water, blend that nicely and then do a second round with spices and other smaller ingredients. We use this blender
